Omagh County Primary School, Omagh, County Tyrone

Eco Club

In Omagh County Primary we aim to make our school more environmentally-friendly.  We have enthusiastic and caring children in our school who are keen to make the world a better place.

In the school years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025  we will be focusing on developing and improving the following three areas: Transport - Working alongside Aidan and Amy from Sustrans we will be developing pupils' knowledge of road safety and their confidence with cycling.

Healthy Living - we would like to encourage pupils to eat healthily at break and lunchtime and also to take part in as many different sports.

Outdoor Learning - pupils from Nursery right up to Year 7 are going to be taking part in outdoor lessons in various subject areas. Pupils will also make regular visits to Hill at the High and Forest School.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2021 and 2023.

If you have any suggestions for how we can make OCPS more environmentally friendly speak to any member of the Eco-club.
