Healthy Hearts in Nursery

Today Nursery celebrated World Heart Day. We talked about how to keep our hearts healthy by eating fruit and vegetables ("definitely not sweets for breakfast") and doing some exercise. After decorating some puffy hearts, we launched the Daily Mile in the P1 playground. There may be some sleepy eyes tonight!

The Rugby World Cup has really inspired our youngsters with our afterschools club being oversubscribed! Clive has started with a few of the basics but its already very clear that Johnny Sexton's place in the Irish team is under threat!

Friday 22nd September was our International Languages Day. We celebrated by dressing up and eating a delicious international picnic...even Miss Funston went back for seconds! The children also took turns to teach the rest of the class a few words and phrases from their own mother tongue or a language they had investigated at home. très bien tout le monde!

A huge thank you to Dr Lucy who took time out of her busy schedule to come and visit Year 1 today. The boys and girls loved hearing about life as a doctor and had lots of tricky questions for her to answer. She has inspired many of our Year 1's to become doctors and nurses themselves!
