Year 7 History event at Omagh Academy
15th Sep 2025
Our Primary 7 pupils had a fantastic opportunity this week when they visited Omagh Academy to take part in a special History event. They joined with pupils there to meet the Historical Reenactors from Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District Council, who brought history to life with engaging workshops on weapons through the ages and the arrival of the Normans.
The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing demonstrations, handling replicas, and even dressing up in armour as they learned about how warfare has changed over time. It was a brilliant chance for our pupils to extend their knowledge beyond the classroom, ask questions, and experience history in a fun and interactive way. A big thank you to Omagh Academy for inviting us along to share in such a memorable way of learning.
