Omagh County Primary School, Omagh, County Tyrone

Year 4 Term 2

25th Mar 2026

Welcome to our Year 4 class update!

We have had a very busy and exciting time with lots of fantastic learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.

Our trips have been a real highlight this term. We thoroughly enjoyed our Bridge and River Walk around Omagh, where we explored our local environment and learned more about how bridges are used and designed. Our visits to the library have also been a great success, helping us to develop a love of reading and discover new books.

We have been lucky to welcome some wonderful visitors into school too. We learned about fishing and how important it is for our local area, and we also took part in an engaging internet safety session with Thrive Academy, helping us to understand how to stay safe online.

A big well done to everyone who completed the Paired Reading Programme! It has been fantastic to see such enthusiasm for reading, and we really appreciate all the support from home—thank you!

Outdoor learning has been another key part of our term. At the Hill @ the High, we developed our Handling Data skills through practical, hands-on activities, making learning both fun and meaningful.

During Activity Time, we have been exploring our topic of Water and Bridges, taking part in a range of creative and engaging tasks that have brought our learning to life.

There is lots more to see and celebrate in our class journal, so be sure to take a look!
