Year 1 continue their 'Space' journey...

26th Jan 2024

All the boys and girls in Year 1 continue to enjoy exploring their topic of Space. They put the finishing touches on their rockets and enjoyed stories about making friends with aliens They loved building space stations and learned some interesting facts about the moon (it doesn't 'make' its own light, it reflects light from the sun!)and how astronauts prepare to travel in to space.
They put their knowledge of 3D shapes to good use by building and decorating cone shaped party hats and practised their listening and predicting skills when they listened to the story of Baby Brains, the baby who became an astronaut.

We were all delighted to return to ‘Hill at the High’ and try out our new steps. A brilliant way to develop our gross motor skills. Thank you to Jaxon and Ben who kindly donated some items for us to use in our digging area - as you can see from our photographs, they were greatly appreciated!

Congratulations to Mrs McGirr who had a baby boy this week. There was great excitement in Year 1 when the photo of baby McGirr came through. We are all looking forward to a little cuddle when she brings him in to visit.

Have a lovely weekend!
