Polar Lands in P2
24th Feb 2026
Our P2 class has been having so much fun learning about the Polar Lands through lots of hands‑on play and creativity.
The children loved exploring our small‑world Arctic and Antarctic setups, acting out adventures with snowy animals and tiny explorers. In the role‑play corner, our cosy igloo became a busy hub where children pretended to be scientists and Inuits, discovering how people live in freezing climates. We made sparkling snowflakes, created beautiful Northern Lights pictures using chalk, and modelled our own penguins using model magic and paint. We used construction toys to make skidoos that would slide on the ice and we made rafts for Polar Bear to float on the Arctic Ocean. The boys and girls also explored real ice, observing how it melts and changes.
It has been a fantastic topic full of imagination and discovery. We may even have some future polar explorers amongst us!
