P6 Take Maths Outdoors at Forest School
Today, P6 took their maths lesson outdoors during Forest School and enjoyed a fun, hands-on learning experience focused on measurement.
Working in pairs, the children used measuring tools to find the length of various natural objects, including branches, and measured the circumference of trees around the site. They also investigated weight by weighing a range of natural materials such as stones and acorns.
To develop their understanding of shape and space, pupils used sticks to create different 2D shapes and then worked out the area and perimeter of each one.
Everyone had great fun learning outside while developing their measuring and problem-solving skills. Take a look at some photos from our outdoor maths adventure!
