As well as the World Cup currently taking place across the Atlantic, there have been lots of football events being held more locally.
On Wednesday we took teams of Year 6 boys and girls to the Killen PS World Cup competition, representing France. The matches were very competitive and close and we had a great day out at a smoothly run event. Rumours of a victory for OCPS in the Fair Play category proved to be false, as unfortunately Mr Morgan had misread yet another email!
On Friday we hosted the Rodney Cunningham Memorial Cup, in memory of a great friend to the school. On the World Cup theme, OCPS came disguised as Mexico, Portugal, South Korea and Canada. McClintock and Gibson provided the opposition, and after group and knockout stages the final was between Mexico (OCPS P6) and South Korea (OCPS P7). After a very entertaining final, South Korea took the trophy with a narrow 1-0 win!
