On Thursday our P5 pupils enjoyed a truly heart-warming visit to a local nursing home, and what a success it was! From the moment they arrived, the children showed excellent behaviour, kindness, and enthusiasm as they chatted and spent time with the residents.
The visit brought smiles all around. 😊
For the residents, the children’s energy and laughter offered a wonderful emotional boost, helping to lift spirits and spark memories. Social interaction like today’s visit can have real health benefits for older people—reducing feelings of loneliness, supporting mental wellbeing, and keeping minds active.
And for our P5 children, the experience was just as meaningful. Spending time with older members of the community helps build confidence, empathy, and communication skills. They learned the joy of giving their time and attention, and you could see how proud they were to make a positive difference.
We are so proud of how brilliantly our pupils represented the school. And the warm, fuzzy feeling that comes with an act of kindness was a perfect reward! 💛
