Today our student teacher, Miss Jones, taught us all about symmetry. We learned that something is symmetrical when both sides are the same, just like a mirror image. To make it more exciting, we went outside to look for symmetrical shapes around the playground. We spotted patterns, markings and even examples in nature.
After that, we worked with a partner using chalk. One person drew one half of a shape, and the other had to complete it to make it symmetrical. It was tricky at times, but we had lots of fun and showed great teamwork!
To finish the day, we celebrated Pancake Tuesday (just a little bit late!). We enjoyed some delicious pancakes together and it was a lovely treat for everyone.
