O, OH, OA, OW DEAR!

Year 3 phonics this week, was a little bit trickier than normal! We were looking at DIGRAPHS, thinking about 2 letters that make the 1 sound and trying hard to spell words containing the 'O' sound. This week, we had lots of fun and interactive tasks, using paper squares, online games, word searches, magnetic letters and so much more! Poor baby Lily and baby Rosie were feeling under the weather this week, both developed bad coughs and had very smelly nappies. Luckily, Year 1 were on hand to set up a baby hospital and put their nursing skills to good use. Thankfully both babies are recovering well and will hopefully be discharged soon.

As part of our ‘Let’s Celebrate’ topic, we used all our senses to explore popcorn. Can you remember what the 5 senses are? Can you remember the order we used our 5 senses? We sampled sweet and salty popcorn. Next we sorted our names on a Venn Diagram to show if we liked sweet popcorn, salty, both or none!

Autumn has officially arrived and we are enjoying exploring the season using all our senses. P2 have taken advantage of the fabulous autumn colours on display all around ‘Hill at the High’ and have used these to make our very own party bunting.
