In 2012, through the RSPB, we adopted and named Rio the red kite. Rio was brought to Northern Ireland from Wales as a chick and was released in Co Down near Castlewellan. A few weeks ago Rio was found injured near a farm close to Dromara, Co Down. After a few weeks of TLC from vets and the RSPB she was ready to be re-released again. Miss Lockington, Mrs Walker, Harvey, Emily and Allister were delighted to go and see her take to the skies again.
