Year 1 learn about 'Autumn'

8th Oct 2021

This week has been all about saying cheese in Year 1! The children have had to put on their best smiles for the school photographer and local papers -  they have made us so proud with their excellent behaviour (modelling isn't always easy when you are 4 or 5!).

We were delighted to start our new topic of 'Autumn' this week. Everyone contributed lots of ideas to our planning board and made exciting plans for Play Based Learning in the coming weeks.

We have been learning about...

  • Triangles
  • The number 3
  • How to word build with the sounds s, m, a, t and i
  • Manipulating puzzles
  • Signs of Autumn
  • Hedgehogs - why not ask us what a baby hedgehog is called?
  • The names of different fruit and veg grown in Ms Bunce and Mrs Pollock's gardens
  • How to play simple 'Playground Games'

Enjoy looking at some photographs of what we have been doing in class this week and talking about them together at home.

Have a lovely weekend Year 1,

Mrs Pollock & Ms Bunce
